The Indiana Legislative Oral History Initiative (ILOHI) is a project of the Indiana Historical Bureau (IHB), a Division of the Indiana State Library. It provides an opportunity to get an inside look at the politicians who have helped shape the State of Indiana. These oral history interviews explore the Indiana General Assembly through the eyes of the men and women who debated the issues, wrote the laws, crafted the budgets, and molded the institutions in an attempt to better the lives of Hoosiers. The insights and lessons that emerge from their experiences are crucial in understanding modern Indiana and in showing how the citizens of the state also play pivotal roles in the legislative process through their engaged effort and demonstration of their will.
